Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an efficient framework for monitoring and managing the operations of the unit.
- Coordinate and supervise all activities in the unit.
- Formulate administrative policies and procedures in line with overall objective and strategies of the General services unit.
- Optimally manage the outsourcing services relationship.
- Develop and implement strategies to deliver effective and efficient management of the company’s physical assets – land, properties, vehicles and equipment.
- Oversee efficient maintenance and administration of the company infrastructure and facilities.
- Approve service level agreements with service providers and monitor their performance.
- Ensure adequate provision of administrative services companywide.
- Ensure optimal allocation/management of physical assets companywide(no wastages or excesses).
- Coordinate the preparation of the unit budget.
- Develop cost containment initiatives.
- Approve expenditure in the unit within the limit of authority.
- Review, analyze, approve/disapprove award of tenders within limits of authority.
- Implementation of HSE companywide.
- Develop and implement health safety programs and policies, review of HSE policies, planned activities and pre-cautionary measures.
- Establish and oversee an efficient document management system (document tracking, retrieval, archiving inactive records periodically).
- Establish a coordinated mail dispatch system across the organization
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Humanities or related field.
- Master’s in Business Administration is an added advantage Relevant Experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience with at least five (5) years managerial experience preferably in Project Management or Facility Management.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment laws.
- Certification in Project Management is an added advantage.
- Membership of Nigeria Institute of management is an added advantage.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general procurement laws, practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of inventory recordkeeping to include safe, effective, and efficient handling and storage of stock, material, tools, and supplies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of organizing, planning, coordinating, managing and directing administrative functions, planning processes and technology projects.
- Knowledge of leadership techniques, principles, and procedures to assign work, schedule, supervise, train, and evaluate the work of assigned staff.
