Champion Breweries opens renovated health centre in Akwa Ibom



Champion Breweries PLC has recently upgraded and inaugurated a remodeled health center as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. The facility in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State now boasts modern amenities such as solar-powered lighting, new beds, shelves, windows, and doors. The company also installed a borehole water system and renovated offices to enhance primary healthcare services delivery.

Furthermore, a two-day free medical outreach was conducted from December 30 to December 31, 2024, benefiting over 1,000 individuals. The outreach offered free eye care services, general medical consultations, and medications. The medical team was sourced from various clinics for the event.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Managing Director of Champion Breweries PLC, Inalegwu Adoga, highlighted the importance of giving back to the community. The Village Head of Aka Community, Francis Morgan, appreciated the company’s contributions and suggested additional support for securing the health center.

The outreach coordinator, Idoreyin Udoh, mentioned the variety of healthcare services provided, including screenings for hypertension and diabetes. Florence Okon Udoudo, Head of the Aka Community Health Centre, expressed gratitude for the transformation of the facility and the quality healthcare now available to residents.

Overall, beneficiaries praised Champion Breweries PLC for its commitment to community development and the positive impact of the initiative.
