Job Title: Transaction Payment Posting Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for payment posting, by booking the payment invoice then post the payment between bank and respective ledger account, for the nonlife business.
  • Responsible for journal posting, by debiting and crediting respective ledger account.
  • Prepayments postings and related monthly reoccurring journals.
  • Responsible for reviewing claims payment, recoveries and outstanding/reserves GL weekly to ensure reconciled position with claims unit’s data.
  • Responsible for confirmation of above reconciled balances to Executive management
  • Fixed Asset Purchase/acquisition recognition.
  • Responsible for maintaining Fixed Asset Register, by posting every asset acquired in the Asset schedule.
  • Responsible for petty cash management and disbursement as appropriate.
  • Responsible for retirement of the petty cash float and processing reimbursement each month.
  • Responsible for monitoring and posting of cash advance retirement on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for monitoring the schedule for cash advance and sending the list of unretired advances to Human Capital by every 14th of the month.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in a similar role preferably in an insurance firm.
  • A professional qualification of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL
