Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Procurement Officer to manage procurement activities and project cost control. The role ensures value-for-money sourcing of goods and services while supporting effective project delivery through strong quantity surveying functions.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Functions:

  • Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers/vendors for quality, pricing, and reliability.
  • Prepare purchase orders and procurement contracts in line with project needs.
  • Track orders to ensure timely delivery and compliance with agreed terms.
  • Negotiate supplier terms to achieve best value procurement.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with project and warehouse teams to forecast material requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures.

Quantity Surveying Functions:

  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, estimates, and cost plans.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tender documents, and cost breakdowns.
  • Measure and value completed works and process contractor payments.
  • Analyze project costs, identify variances, and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Conduct site visits to assess work progress and cost implications.
  • Support contract administration, claims management, and variations.
  • Prepare regular cost reports and financial analyses for ongoing projects.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in procurement and quantity surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of construction costing, procurement processes, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, procurement systems, and QS tools (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and vendor management.
