Job Summary
The Microwave Network Planning Manager will be responsible for designing, planning, and optimizing microwave links to support reliable and efficient network connectivity. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in microwave transmission planning, excellent analytical skills, and a solid understanding of Nigerian telecom standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves working closely with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality planning outputs and ensure successful network implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and plan microwave transmission links using Pathloss and other industry-standard tools.
- Conduct link budget analysis, frequency planning, and line-of-sight (LOS) surveys.
- Prepare detailed planning reports, documentation, and presentations for clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate closely with clients to gather project requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Review regulatory, environmental, and technical constraints to ensure compliance with Nigerian telecom guidelines.
- Optimize existing microwave networks to improve performance, capacity, and reliability.
- Work with implementation and operations teams to validate designs and support troubleshooting during deployment.
- Maintain updated planning records, network databases, and project documentation.
- Provide technical recommendations to enhance network architecture and project outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3–5 years experience in microwave network planning or transmission engineering.
- Proficiency in Pathloss (mandatory).
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and network documentation.
- Solid understanding of microwave propagation, link budgets, frequency coordination, and network optimization.
- Familiarity with Nigerian telecommunications regulations and industry standards.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and client-management abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
