JOB TITLE: INVENTORY OFFICER

JOB SUMMARY
The inventory officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s inventory levels. The officer collaborates with the inventory manager and other departments to meet inventory needs and optimise stock levels. The officer monitors stock movement and conducts regular stock counts to reconcile discrepancies
REQUIREMENT
• 1 – 3 years of proven experience as an inventory officer or similar position
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., ERP)
• Working knowledge of word processor, database and spreadsheet software.
• Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
• An analytical mind with strong math skills
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Reliable and trustworthy
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage requisitions from salon locations, ensuring that the standard quantity is adhered to.
• Generate RFQ based on stick holding levels in the warehouse.
• Review the standard of quantity for issuance every two months
• Align with suppliers on inventory availability and supply
• Document and properly store receipts.
• Ensure items are stored based on FIFO, fast-moving, slow-moving and non-moving
• Product issuance to the salon, based strictly on backfill to standard quality
• Transfer documents to accompany all deliveries to the salon
• Stock levels are to be tracked during the picking process
• Conduct inventory spot checks at the warehouse at two-week intervals on Friday
• Monitor inventory levels for the salon
• Weekly warehouse reconciliation of salon retail (Monday)
• Conduct spot checks on salon retail products (Thursday
• Replenishment of retail inventory at the salons (Thursday)
• Conversant with software tools for tracking multiple projects
• Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures
• Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw materials to identify shortages
• Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers
• Record and capture daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
• Use software to monitor demand and document the characteristics of inventory.
• Always track stock levels
• Place orders to replenish stock, avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus.
• Analyse data to anticipate future needs.
• Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships.
• Ensure business goals are met, and the business isn’t low on supplies.
